What this site does when you visit
The pages are static files. They set no cookies, run no scripts, and load nothing from any other server. There is no analytics, no advertising and no embedded content.
The hosting provider, Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), records server logs when a page is requested: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the browser type and the referring page. That is technically necessary to deliver the page and to defend against abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in running the site. Logs are kept for 14 days and then deleted.
The mailing list
There is no signup form. If you choose to send an email to the address on the front page, we receive your email address and whatever you wrote, and we keep the address in that mailbox for one purpose: to send you a message when the book is published and, at most, one a month after that when a new scene or chapter is up.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by sending the email. Promotional email in Germany requires that consent (§ 7 UWG), which is why the message you send says so in its text.
Your address is seen by the email provider that hosts the mailbox, named below, processing it on our behalf. It is not given to anyone else and is not used for anything else. Withdraw at any time by replying with the word stop, or by writing to the contact above; the address is then deleted from the mailbox and from any sending list. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of emails sent before it.
The mailbox is run by IONOS SE (Germany). Emails are sent from that mailbox individually, by hand — no mailing tool is used.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable form, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to the contact above. You can also complain to a data-protection authority; the one responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (www.ldi.nrw.de).
Changes
This notice is dated September 2026. If the site ever adds a form, a mailing tool, analytics or a shop, this page changes first.
